Career

Qazi Umair Ali graduated from the University of London and was called to the Bar by the Hon`ble Society of Lincoln's Inn.

Mr. Qazi began his legal career in London, where he was involved in an advisory capacity, in the takeover of two private investment banks. Mr. Qazi drafted transactional agreements and advised various clients on the legality of shariah compliant products. Mr. Qazi has worked on many ISDA related deals and carried out numerous SECAT (Secured Commodity Asset Transaction) deals. Thereafter Mr. Qazi moved to Dubai, where he advised clients in property related matters, carried out due diligences and representing and advised on high level commercial agreements for various real estate firms in Dubai.

In Pakistan, Mr. Qazi has represented various commercial and corporate clients in several high level constitutional and civil matters, covering a wide area of laws, including banking, customs, income tax, sales tax, commercial, company matters and matters relating to civil servants. Mr. Qazi regularly appears before the High Courts in Pakistan and advises clients on matters relating to tax, customs, real estate, media, intellectual property and company law. He is considered one of the leading advocates in Karachi in regard to tax related matters. His cases are regularly reported in legal journals in Pakistan. He also regularly advises well known commercial entities and companies on a wide array of legal issues.
